This itinerary highlights the best of Ireland. It can be done as a self-drive or with a private driver-guide. If adjusted slightly it can also be done by train or group tour.
Day 1 Dublin
Arrive Dublin. Private transfer from the airport to your hotel. This afternoon you have pre-booked entrances to the Guinness Storehouse-Skip the Queue and Trinity College and Book of Kells.
Two overnights: Dublin
Day 2 Day trip to Belfast
Day at leisure in Ireland’s capital or perhaps take a day trip with a group (or independently) to Belfast.
Day 3 Dublin-Cork-Blarney Castle-Killarney
Today pickup your compact rental car and drive to Cork (3 hours 20 minutes). Spend time in Cork and kiss the Blarney Stone located at the Blarney Castle. Continue to Killarney (1 hour 30 minutes).
Two overnights: Killarney
Day 4 Ring of Kerry
Today drive to the Ring of Kerry. This scenic drive is 179km and offers breathtaking views.
Day 5 Dingle Peninsula
Continue by car to the Dingle Peninsula (1 hour 10 minutes) and stay in Dingle this evening.
Overnight: Dingle
Day 6 Dingle-Limerick-Galway Area
Continue by car to Ennis (3 hours) located south of Galway. Perhaps stop in Limerick on your way for lunch and sightseeing.
Two Overnights: Galway Area
Day 7 Cliffs of Moher
Day at leisure in Ennis. Take a day trip to Galway today or to the Cliffs of Moher.
Day 8 Return to Dublin
Travel back to Dublin (2 hours 30 minutes) at your leisure today. Return your car and check-in to your Dublin Hotel. Perhaps take in a Merry Ploughboy show tonight.
Overnight: Dublin
Day 9 Private Transfer from your Dublin hotel to airport, depart Dublin per your own arrangements.

This itinerary can easily be done as a self-drive. Or, if budget allows, travel with a private car and driver-guide for the ultimate experience.
Day 1 – Dublin
Welcome to Dublin. On arrival you pick up your car at the airport and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon you can explore this capital city with its many historic buildings, Georgian streets and colourful gardens.

Day 2 – Dublin - Meath area
This morning depart towards Boyne Valley. The Boyne Valley is a World Heritage Site and is the largest and one of the most important prehistoric megalithic sites in Europe.

Day 3 – Meath area - Kildare area
Today travel to Celbridge and visit Castletown House, Ireland's largest and earliest Palladian style house, built between 1722 and 1729 for William Conolly. In the afternoon you can visit the Irish National Stud and Japanese Gardens, the only stud farm in Ireland open to the public offering daily tours.
Overnight: Kildare area
Day 4 – Kildare area - Kilkenny - Wexford area
After breakfast, depart for the medieval city of Kilkenny and visit to Kilkenny Castle, 12th century castle remodeled in Victorian times and set in extensive parklands which was the principal seat of the Butler family, Marquesses and Dukes of Ormonde. The site contains the Tomb Effigy of St Nicholas (Bishop of Myra). While there, enjoy a sheep dog demonstration with sheep or geese! A fun and fascinating event to watch as it shows man and dog work together as one – herding. Finally travel via New Ross. Visit to Ros Tapestry Exhibition – a massive community initiative conceived in 1998 and being developed by over a 150 dedicated volunteers.

Day 5 – Wexford
Start the day with a walking tour of Wexford town, founded by the Vikings who named it Waesfjord (meaning ‘harbour of mud flats’). The Visitor Centre at Hook Lighthouse is at the tip of Hook and offers guided tours of the lighthouse tower, one of the oldest operational lighthouses in the world.

Day 6 – Wexford area - Wicklow area
This morning depart for Wicklow. On route, pay a visit to Wells House & Gardens in Gorey, a stunning Victorian Walled house & garden, boasting over 300 years of history. This afternoon, visit Killruddery House home to the Earls of Meath since 1618. Killruddery is unique in having one of the most extensive early formal gardens, in their original style, surviving in Ireland today. Laid out in the 17th century and added to in the 19th century, they are amongst the most important of their type in Ireland and the UK.
Overnight: Wicklow area
Day 7 – Return to Dublin
Today why not return to Dublin to spend the day there. Alternatively visit Howth, a picturesque fishing village which is situated at the foot of a huge rock peninsula. Howth, a huge rock massif with footpaths ideal for small walks, offers beautiful views of Dublin Bay. You can also visit one of the numerous seafood restaurants.

Day 8 – Dublin Departure
Travel to Dublin Airport for return flight home.
