LUXURY SOUTHERN SPAIN by TRAIN

Independent Train Tour 

7 days / 6 nights 

Come and explore three of Spain's most beautiful cities: Sevilla, Granada and Cordoba. Andalucia is by far Spain's most scenic region, full of amazing architecture, a rich history and very tasty food and wine. This itinerary gives you a good overview of Southern Spain. But it can also be built on by adding more nights in each city or continuing on to other parts of Spain, or even by using a rental car or private driver-guide for part of the way. This sample itinerary is using beautiful 4* and 5* hotels, but it can be downgraded to adjust for budget.

Day 1 Arrive Madrid, capital of Spain. Private transfer from the airport straight to the Madrid Puerta de Atocha train station. Travel on reserved first class seats on the AVE train to Sevilla(e.g. 11am departure, 1:30pm arrival) . Two overnights at the centrally located 5* Hotel Alfonso XIII or similar in Sevilla, deluxe room with breakfast.

Day 2 Spend your day at your own leisure in Sevilla.We suggest visits to The Alcázar of Sevilla, a royal palace originally developed by Moorish Muslim kings; Plaza de España; the Cathedral and its bell tower La Giralda; the Jewish quarter etc.

Day 3 Today travel by local train from Sevilla to Granada (duration: 3 ½ hours). Afternoon at your own leisure. Two overnights at the historic 4* Hotel Parador de Granada or similar in a junior suite.

Day 4 A guide will pick you up at your hotel for a private 3-hour walking tour of the Alhambra and Generalife. In the evening, we suggest a typical Flamenco show (optional). 

Day 5 Travel by local trains from Granada to Córdoba. In the afternoon, we suggest you visit The Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba, also known as the Great Mosque of Córdoba and the Mezquita. One overnight at the 4* Hotel Balcón de Córdoba or similar, deluxe balcony room with breakfast. 

Day 6 Private transfer to Córdoba train station. Travel in reserved first class seats on the AVE train to Madrid (2 hours). Private transfer to your hotel. One overnight at the 5* Hotel The Principal or similar in Madrid, premium room with breakfast.

Day 7 Private transfer to Madrid airport for your flight home.
