SOUTH AFRICA WITH BLUE TRAIN

9 days/8 nights

Day 1 – Arrival in Cape Town 

Arrive Cape Town, private transfer to your hotel. Check-in for 2 overnights at The Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel, deluxe room, including breakfast. You will have the rest of the day and evening at leisure to relax at the hotel.

Day 2 – Full day Cape Point Tour (B/L)

Today enjoy a Full Day Cape Point Tour with car and a private guide. Included are: a Seal Island Cruise to see thousands of Cape Fur Seals, Chapman's Peak, Cape Point including the funicular, lunch (excl. drinks) at The Black Marlin restaurant, Boulders Beach to see the colony of Jackass Penguins and (weather permitting) Table Mountain. Return to Cape Town for overnight.

Day 3 – Cape Town to the Winelands (B/L)

Check out of your hotel and travel to Stellenbosch, the undisputed wine capital of South Africa and the Waterford Wine Estate. Taste wines and learn about the 350 year history of South African winemaking, followed by a picnic lunch (excluding drinks) at Spier Wine Estate. End the day in the village of Franschhoek for 2 overnights at the Hotel Le Quartier Français, Au Berge room, including breakfast.

Day 4 – Winelands (B/L)

Full day visit , including the Hugeunot Museum, the Solms Delta Wine Estate, the Fairview Wine and Cheese Farm (incl. a Wine and Cheese tasting), lunch (exl. drinks) at the Goatshed Restaurant and the Taal Monument. Return to the village of Franschhoek for overnight.

Day 5 – Blue Train (B/L/D)

Early check-out from your hotel. Today you will board the fantastic BLUE TRAIN. The finest bed linen, marble tiles and gold fittings in the bathrooms and sheer opulence all ensure that guests will never forget the time they spend on The Blue Train. Dress code for dinner: Jacket and tie for the men and elegant wear for the ladies. Meals include all drinks except French champagne. Overnight on the Blue Train in a Deluxe Cabin, all meals included.

Day 6 – Pretoria to Johannesburg (B)

Lunchtime arrival in Pretoria, followed by a short orientation tour of Pretoria, and finally transfer to Johannesburg for one overnight at the Fairlawns Boutique Hotel in Johannesburg. Overnight in a Grand Chateau Suite

Day 7 – Johannesburg to Tintswalo Safari Lodge (B/L/D)

Transfer JNB Airport for your scheduled flight to Tintswalo Safari Lodge (flight is not included in the package price). Road transfer to Tintswalo Safari Lodge, an exclusive 5-star safari lodge, situated on the Private Manyeleti Game Reserve concession within the Greater Kruger National Park. Opportunity to view all different species of African game during this special time of the day. Two nights including 3 meals daily and 2 game viewing activities daily at the Tintswalo Safari Lodge.

Day 8 – Tintswalo Safari Lodge (B/L/D)

This is how guests spend a day at Tintswalo: Early morning game drive in the reserve, followed by breakfast at the lodge. An optional game walk is on offer to those guests who are keen. Lunch at the lodge, time for a short siesta, followed by an Afternoon Game Drive in the reserve looking for the Big 5. Dinner at the lodge.

Day 9 – Departure (B) 

Last game drive in the morning and breakfast before your transfer to the airstrip and your journey home. (flights not  included)
