UNESCO CIRCUIT through the CZECH REPUBLIC
9 days/8 nights
This is an easy itinerary covering 7 different UNESCO sites of the Czech Republic within 9 days. This can be done with a rental car, or if clients prefer, with a private car and driver-guide.
DAY 1: Arrival to Prague, transfer to hotel, check in. The rest of the day is at leisure.
DAY 2-3: Two days dedicated to Prague sightseeing, covering the most important parts of the historical centre of the capital, that is inscribed in UNESCO list.
DAY 4: This morning be picked up from your hotel and enjoy an excursion to Kutna Hora (UNESCO), the 13th century medieval silver mining town full of splendid Gothic monuments and charnel house. On your return way to Prague, stop at a village Velke Popovice to visit the local brewery (one of the most important in the Czech Republic) for an excursion and tasting.
DAY 5: Time to move up. After check-out from your hotel join your driver and guide for a drive to Southern Bohemia (approx. 2,5h-3h drive). We will visit the Hluboká Chateau on the way and arrive to Český Krumlov (UNESCO) – one of the most picturesque towns in the Czech Republic. Enjoy the city tour of Krumlov (approx. 2,5 hours) and have the rest of the day free.
DAY 6: This morning enjoy a gentle drive through the rolling rural countryside of Southern Bohemia. We will head east to Czech-Moravian borderland to visit two UNESCO sites: the town of Telč with well preserved renaissance square and town of Třebíč with its Jewish Town. We will finish the day at local farm bed and breakfast – here you will enjoy the traditional dinner. But before that you can have a walk in the forest, see the farm animals, go for horse riding, etc. What we definitely will not miss is visiting the local distillery.
DAY 7: Today it is time to move further east to Moravian Karst. This limestone protected area has some of the most important cave systems in the country. You will visit the biggest cave system in the Czech Republic (Punkevni Caves) that will also lead you to the bottom of the Macocha abyss (140m deep). In the afternoon move to Brno, the second largest town in the country for short sightseeing including the master piece of functionalism architecture – the Villa Tugendhat (UNESCO). Brno has always somehow been in shadow of Prague, but the truth is that the local cultural scene is very progressive.
DAY 8: This morning be picked up from your hotel and drive to the heart of Southern Moravia – the best wine producing region of the country. Especially the white wines from the area have won awards at many international competitions. Several wine degustations will be prepared for us, plus we will head for a sightseeing of the UNESCO World Heritage Site: Lednice-Valtice Area – the home of a romantic château, a picturesque village and in particular a jewel of landscape architecture of unprecedented proportions.
DAY 9: Return to Prague for departure, or move on to another neighboring country.
