MALTA

EXPLORING THE ISLAND OF MALTA

10 days/9 nights

Malta boasts 300 days of sunshine and is a year-round destination. Malta and its islands are small enough that you can stay in one location and explore it all without changing hotels.

Day 01 Arrival into Malta Airport. Meet with the driver for a private transfer to the hotel in Valletta. Rest of day at leisure.

9 Overnights in VALLETTA, MALTA

Day 02 Enjoy a walking tour of Valletta with a visit to St. John’s Cathedral. Afternoon at leisure to stroll the Old Town, an UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 03 Head to the Sliema port for a Comino Blue Lagoon cruise. View the beautiful lagoon with clear turquoise water – great for swimming and snorkeling. Time permitting, stop at Sliema Beach before returning to Valletta.

Day 04 Half-day tour to see the Hager Quim Temples from Valletta. Return to Valletta to spend an afternoon at leisure, perhaps relaxing at the hotel or exploring some of the war history sites at the harbor.

Day 05 Visit Malta’s sister-island -Gozo- as a day trip by boat. Explore the UNESCO-listed megalithic temples of Ggantija and/or stroll down Ramla Bay - Gozo’s iconic Red Beach.

Day 06 Travel to the Marsaxlokk Fishing Village as a half-day trip from Valletta. It is the largest fishing harbor in Malta - with colorful boats, the market, and lots of fresh seafood to try.

Day 07 Day to see the ‘Three Cities’ of Vittoriosa, Senglea, and Cospicua. These historic fortified cities are across the Grand Harbor from Valletta. Be sure to stop in at the Upper Barrakka gardens for beautiful views!

Day 08 In the western region of Malta, you will find the cities of Rabatwith St. Paul’s Catacombs, Mdina with its ancient walls (a fortified city; previously the island’s capital during the medieval period), and Mtarfa showcasing prehistoric remains and Roman finds.

Day 09 Spend your last full day in Malta tasting Mediterranean cuisine with a food tour, walking through the city. Some highlighted dishes - rabbit stew, lampuki pie, and pastizzi. Later, taking the time to do any remaining exploring and souvenir shopping you may wish to do before departing.

Day 10 Saying good-bye to the island, meet your private transfer driver to go to the airport. Depart Malta Airport, and fly home. Bon Voyage!
