NORWAY BY CAR

Self-drive with a rental car (or option to hire a private drive/guide)

14 days / 13 nights

Day 01 Arrival into the Bergen-BGO Airport. Pick up the rental car, and drive to the hotel in Bergen. Afternoon at leisure.

3 Overnights in BERGEN. 

Day 02 Full day in Bergen. You can choose to stay in town - Kayaking excursion around Oygarden, Explore the Bergen Fish Market (Fisketorget), Take the Floibanen Funicular to the top of Mount Floyen, Walking tour of Bergen (2 hours), or a 3-hour food tour.

Day 03 Full day in Bergen. Take a day trip using the rental car - The Vidden Hike going from Ulriken to Floyen (approx. 11 miles), Walk along evurtjern Lake, arriving by funicular, Take the boat to Lysoen Islan (Ole Bull’s Villa), Cidery Tour to Balestrand.

Day 04 Checkout of the Bergen hotel. Drive to Stryn (approx. 6-7 hours). Options - Stop in Aurlandsfjord, Go through the Lærdalsøyri tunnel, Drive over the Aurlandsfjellet mountain, Stop at the Laerdal Old Town Viewpoint. 

3 Overnights in STRYN.

Day 05 + 06 Two full days in Stryn. Sightseeing options - Briksdalsbreen (Briksdal glacier), Jostedalsbreen National Park (Jostedal glacier), The Town of Olden, Tvinnefossen Waterfall, Mount Skala.

Day 07 Checkout of the Stryn hotel. Drive to Ålesund (approx. 2 ½ hours). Options - Drive through the Trollstigen mountain pass and stop at the Trolls Path Viewpoint, Stop in Geiranger, Stop in Åndalsnes.

3 Overnights in ÅLESUND (also called AALESUND)

Day 08 Full day in Ålesund. Things to do in the city – 2-hour Guided Walking Tour of Ålesund, Explore the Art Nouveau District in Ålesund, Walk up to the Fjellstua viewpoint, Visit the Ålesund Museum, Sea Kayaking.

Day 09 Full day in Ålesund. Day trip options using the rental car - Day Trip to Gamle Strynefjellsvegen, Travel up the Atlantic Ocean Road; perhaps visiting Molde or Kristiansund as well, Travel just outside Ålesund to see the Alnes Lighthouse on Godoy, Hike Slogen, Boat trip to Hjørundfjord.

Day 10 Checkout of the Ålesund hotel. Drive to the Ålesund-AES Airport, and drop-off the rental car. Fly home.
